Domain Lofts – 900 N. Kingsbury (75 Units)

Domain Lofts

Domain Lofts are considered highly prized real estate for the big city home investor. The property is located where the Chicago River splits to encircle Goose Island (just north of Chicago Avenue). Built right on the river’s edge, this River North loft complex offers onsite conveniences like boat slips, kayaking and open air European-style markets.

The decidedly industrial landscape that shapes the River North neighborhood suits Domain Lofts’ austere concrete exteriors and mixed-use space. Businesses and restaurants inhabit the ground level and 75 loft units occupy the upper floors. An extensive 15,000 square-foot garden courtyard and relaxing waterfront terraces provide serene retreats for Domain Loft residents to enjoy the outdoors in comfort.

Domain Lofts’ traditional loft-style units are designed with various sizes of floor plans, including one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom layouts. There are some penthouses and duplexes with multi-tiered verandas and square footage of up to 3,000 square feet. The smallest units have around 800 square feet. Exposed concrete and support columns frame the 12-foot ceiling heights that define each loft. Massive glass window panes and patio doors allow plenty of light to enter the residences. Units have individually controlled heating and air conditioning and are pre-wired for high-speed Internet, phone lines, and satellite TV.

Domain Lofts offer a wide variety of interior finishes and décor. All units maintain an open design with living room, dining room and kitchen in one large space. Kitchens are often equipped with stainless steel appliance packages, 42” cabinets and granite counters. Partial walls separate the bedrooms from the main living area. Hardwood floors, track lighting, exposed ductwork, and in-unit laundry are also fairly standard for Domain Lofts properties.

A large atrium extends through the first six floors of Domain Lofts. Each level has a special “e-port” video wall where residents can find information about what’s going in the building (such as package deliveries) and local happenings/activities in the neighborhood. Domain Loft dwellers also share the building’s expansive rooftop sun deck and have access to a quarter-mile outdoor jogging track that is situated on top of the complex as well. A doorman is on duty 24 hours a day and there is heated garage parking.
